Recent events have made it clear
that the threat posed by Iran
should be dealt with sooner rather
than later.
In Iraq, Iran is the Problem, Not the
Solution  Amazingly, despite all the
evidence of Iranian support for
both the Iraqi Shi‘ite extremist
militias--the Jaish al-Mahdi of al-
Daawa Party cleric Moqtada al-
Sadr and the Badr and Wolf
Brigades of cleric Abdul-Aziz al-

A Growing Sex Trade: Today, the
two greatest threats to rights and
well being of women in the world
are Islamic fundamentalism and the
growing sex trade. The
fundamentalists in Iran are the
chief sponsors of first of these
threats, and leading practitioners
of second.
Misogyny Pillar of Religious
Fascism: "....if the mullahs refrain
from gender discrimination and
from imposing the eternal
hegemony of men over women,
they would be changing their
nature. Khomeini stressed:
"Declaring that women have equal
rights would result in annulling
several important Islamic edicts.""

Our efforts to prevent war must be

No Regime Change in Iran.  "If we
continue on this path, I guess both
the West and Iranian people will
have to live with terrorists and
terrorism for years to come..... But,
the point is that those who are in
favor of continuous and futile
dialogue will feel the brunt of
terrorism just as much as those
who want practical and long term
solutions."
History Repeating itself: Time to
Redress a Grave Injustice "Today,
appeasement of the ruling ayatollahs in
Iran is thwarting the will of the Iranian
people for change. Twenty-seven
years ago, as the Shah's regime was
going through its final weeks, the
then-British Foreign Secretary declared
that Britain must stand by the side of
her ally. Today, in an echo of failed
policies of the past, the British Foreign
Secretary has become the most
frequent high-profile Western visitor to
Tehran, having made five trips in two
years."

IRAN RENEWS DRIVE
AGAINST THE IRAQIS IN
BORDER REGION

NYT, July 14, 1982
LONDON, Wednesday,
July 14 - Iran said early
today that its troops had
opened a new offensive
against Iraqis aimed at
keeping Iranian cities safe
from the fire of Iraqi
gunners.

Iran's official press
agency, which had long
distributed threats to
invade Iraq, quoted a
military communique as
saying Iranian troops had
overrun ''the first bunkers
of the enemy'' and were
advancing.
